Friday’s (Thursday’s) Favorites and Not-So-Favorites

Since I am going un-plugged tomorrow, I thought that I would do my normal Friday feature a day early.

Plus, I am trying to distract myself from buying Joseph this cute shirt that I found online… Just say no, just say no…

This week, my Friday’s Favorite is:

A no-spill spout for water-bottles!

I seem to be physically/mentally incapable of remembering a sippy cup for Joseph.  Ever.   I don’t know what it is.

Now, all I have to do is pop this little gem into a bottle of water and voila!  No spill sippiness for my little parched baby!

The only down side is that, if you leave your child unattended with said water bottle, while you are- I don’t know- coveting wicker cake-stands at Target, he will be able to unscrew the non-spill spout, and dump the entire bottle of water in the middle of the aisle.

I’ve heard

My Friday’s Not-so-favorite is:

Joseph’s obsession with light switches.

Seriously, on-off-on-off, I get it!

Who taught this kid about light switches?

If this goes on much longer, I may have to gouge out my eyes so that I have something to do.

End of rant.

Well, here I go.  Unplugged Friday.

Sigh.

I am totally dreading it.

What will I do?  Interact with my child?  Clean my house?  LAAAAAMMMMEE!

I hope that you all have a great weekend.

My in-laws are coming into town, and I am really looking forward to it!

And by, “really looking forward to it” I mean that “my in-laws read my blog.”

OOHHH!  Just kidding, Maureen, just kidding!

I actually am looking forward to it, and not just because she is bringing me presents!

My father-in-law is providing free manual labor for our wood awning set-up, and my Mother-in-law loves to watch and praise every little thing that Joseph does.

In fact, I bet that she will think that the light-switch trick is super neat.

And I will nap and paint my nails.

Plus, they are all-around fun people, and I LOVE showing off Joseph to family.

Well, better go “finish the dishes” (buy that shirt…)

We finally found one of those bottle top converters - it was hard to find a store that was not out. They must be popular - and surprisingly expensive - for a little plastic thing. But T Rex loves his and in fact drank almost an entire bottle of water today. One way to motivate this kid into drinking liquids - seriously, he won't drink anything except water and breast milk and sometimes it's hard to convince him to drink the water. These boys! Got to love their "likes".

And I hear you on the light switches - you saw the photo of T Rex getting up on the box to turn the lights on?!

Have a great visit - we have your T shirts in case you don't want to buy that one online!

Well now, am I ever glad I couldn't sleep with all my excitement of our weekend to Boise! I choose to believe every good word you say about being excited that we're coming :) And I look forward to giving you some time to yourself/solo time with Joseph for ME!!! I also look forward to time with his parents!

Your blog cracks me up.

You must tell me where you found that no spill spout. Thomas always wants our bottles and if I had that I could give him one. Of course he will probably still want ours but it might work for a minute or two... LOL.

Enjoy your unplugged weekend. I am unplugged every weekend because so much else is always going on.

I am so with you on the light switches, the babies have discovered them lately. I just don't get the fasination.
I hope that you are having a great unplugged day. Happy Weekend.

My child is obsessed with TV remotes. She'll randomly come up behind someone who's watching the boob tube and change the channel. 'Cause we don't know she's lurking back there, we get a tad confused sometimes!

The bottle top, what a great idea. I too am constantly forgetting a sippy cup and poor baby is dehydrating. You would think that I would have it down by now, but NOPE!

Thanks.
Blessings,
Kimberly

I hope you all have a wonderful time together, and thank goodness you have a Dad-in-law who knows how to build and has the time to do it. What a blessing to your family! I can't wait to see the finished product. Lots of hanging flower baskets, I bet?
Love you,
