Garbage Part 2

(Part 1 here)

Dear Garbage Man,

That baby standing on the sidewalk with the polar bear-ears hat on?  That was my baby.

Thank you for waving to him!  That was the biggest smile that I have seen on his face all day.  He thinks that your truck is so cool, and to see you wave from it?  AWESOME!

The honks were cool too.

Okay, they were terrifying.

But we get what you were trying to do, and we appreciate it.

And, in all fairness, my son is afraid of the hand mixer and the sewing machine, so an average kid may not be scared of a honk.

Please wave at us again next week- it made his morning!

I am sorry for the letter I wrote you last time.  You can be as loud as you want!

Well, no.

Let me rephrase.

When we are awake and out for a walk, you can be as loud as you want.

Otherwise, shhhhh!

See you next week!

Sincerely,

The lady waving frantically while a polar bear clung to her leg

We've never encountered the garbage truck - we're usually gone before they arrive. I would love to have seen a photo of the two of you waving at the truck this morning! I bet it was sweet!

You four kids all loved seeing the garbage truck when you were growing up. Well, at least until you were 7 or 8 years old, anyway. Even now, years later, when I hear the garbage truck coming my first thought it, "Oh boy! It's the garbage truck! Run to the window to see him."
I was out at Newberg the other day on garbage day and heard the truck outside and I said, "Aidan! It's the garbage truck!!" Sure enough, he ran over to the window like a kid trying to catch a glimpse of Santa Clause.
Fun memories..both Then and Now.

Gee, sounds like my kids were deprived living in the country with no garbage trucks to look out at. Sorry Brian :)
