Wean.

The word that best sums up my week is Wean.

Wean:

1.
to accustom (a child or young animal) to food other than its mother's milk; cause to lose the need to suckle or turn to the mother for food.

2.
to withdraw (a person, the affections, one's dependency, etc.) from some object, habit, form of enjoyment, or the like

Sad.  I prefer the first definition, definitely.  My goal was a year, but I did not quite make it, due to EXTREME lack of interest (Joseph), repeated biting (also Joseph), and constant yelling/tearing up (me.)

He was cut off this time last week, and has not looked back.  Ingrate.

I am fairly uncomfortable, but hoping that it will pass soon.

The good news is I can pack up those tacky nursing bras for a while and get back in my normal ones.  My boobs seem to have lots of room to roam free in them.  Odd…

It’s been fun, Joseph.  Well, up until a few months ago, that is.  Oh yes, and the time that I got mastitis.

I am content to pass on the title of nutritional-supplier to your sippy cup.  It’s time that we see other people.

That visual of "shark teeth" ought to help you when you are feeling sad about your nursing days coming to an end! You did a GREAT job giving that little boy the best nutrition a baby could have!

Hysterical laughing coming from me as I read this section of your blog. That shark photo was....unexpected!
