A short post in honor of my Grandpa, who passed away earlier today.
He was the biggest character I have ever met, and I love seeing his Grandpa-is-teasing twinkle immerging in my own Dad’s eyes.
(winking at the camera at my wedding)
My favorite memory of him: I had been staying with my Grandparents for several days during summer vacation in high school. I apologized to him saying, “Man, Grandpa, I have been staying with you for so long. I hope I’m not disrupting your life too much!”
He twinkled his eyes at me and said, “Maybe my SEX life!” and slapped my Grandma on the rear as she yelled “BOBBY! Stop it!”
May we all be getting our rears slapped by our husbands when we are in our 70s.
Glad that they are together again tonight.
Isn’t it good to know that you have loved ones waiting to greet you on the other side? Even though they will be missed on this one.

Sorry to hear that. I used to work in a nursing home and it was always a sweet moment when someone passed away because they always had their loved one waiting for them on the other side. He sounds like a funny man :P I'm glad you have good memories.
i'm glad you've got all the memories...
love caitlin
I'm very sorry for your loss. Hold on to the good memories.
but yes, what a sweet reunion that must be. I can't wait for mine.
I am so sorry for your loose. Your family and you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
I'm so sorry for your loss. He was such a handsome man. Love those beautiful pictures showing how happy they were together. I'll pray for you and your family.
I gosh, I am so sorry to hear about this. I knew he had been ill so at least it was not prolonged discomfort. Although, being away from his wife was probably the most difficult of all.
Yes, it is hard to know you'll be away from them for a while but so nice to know you'll have a familiar face waiting to welcome you home.
Prayers and hugs from our family to yours.
I'm very sorry for your loss..Your grandfather sounds like a very fun and GREAT man! (((hugs to you)))
Awww..he sounds like a real character. I'm sorry for your loss. But I know what you mean about how it is nice to think of him being reunited with grandma on the other side.
Thank you for your tribute to Grandpa, Caitlin. He was the only dad I had for the last 38 years, even though he was my father-in-law, and he sure WAS a character. He was one of the few people I let call me "Elizabeth" and he was proud of that fact. Called me that every chance he got! Thanks for the tender remembrances, Sweetie.
Very nice tribute Caitlin and I bet those pictures from your wedding day are a treasure...now more than ever! Love and condolences to your whole family.
Mmmm... sorry to hear about your Grandpa passing!!! Is your dad doing okay? Both parents gone... wow. What a sweet post! I'm glad they knew Jesus!
