Pumpkin Patch 2009

Can we all just pretend that Halloween was just this past weekend, so that I can feel like a better mom for not getting these up sooner?  Excellent.

We went to the pumpkin patch three times this year.  The first trip was awesome, the second one was pretty good, and the third one was a bit of a bummer (pouring down rain, mud, Joseph throwing tantrums.)  But, it was kind of nice to have the bad experience at the end, because none of us were sad to leave the patch for the next year.

Please note that I tried to take the obligatory Pumpkin Patch Picture with the kid holding a pumpkin and sitting in the hay…but he just decided to throw them instead.

Cute.

I have SOOO many pictures of the Halloween festivities to share with you that I am feeling slightly overwhelmed.

Here is a sweet little Joseph story to tide you over until I get my act together.

.

Joseph came into the room after me yesterday and absentmindedly said, “Dada?”

I said, “I’m not Dada!  What’s my name?”

“Mama!!” He replied.

“That’s right, and what’s YOUR name?”

He thought for a minute, smiled, and said, “CUTE!”

I couldn’t agree more!

Belly Button?

IMG_3604

(30 weeks pregnant with Joseph)

Umbilical hernia.

My “turkey timer.”

The Third Nipple.

It has been called many things.

It is humorous,

it is sore (because it IS a hernia),

and it is my signature pregnancy feature.

.

A few days ago, I was getting out of the shower Joseph walked into the room.

He stopped, looked at my stomach, and smiled.

He ran over to touch my belly button, and proudly proclaimed “PENIS!  Mama penis!”

Now, did I really want to get into an anatomy discussion with Joseph?  Especially when my belly button, to be fair, doesn’t even look like a belly button?  When it does, just a teensie bit, look like a penis?

I just smiled and said, “That’s right honey!  Now who wants to watch Sesame Street?!”

My poor confused little boy.

You Win Some, You Lose Some.

The Good News:

I was walking by a mirror today while wearing a V-neck shirt, and I noticed that HELLLOOOO “Ladies!”  Looks like somebody isn’t going to have to get breast implants anytime soon- wowza!  Looking good!

The Bad News:

I have a sinking suspicion that this means that, in a few months, I am going to have an eight pound human barreling out of my va-jay-jay.

.

.

Kind of brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “You win some, You lose some” doesn’t it?

25 Weeks

Here we go, folks, time for another belly update:

25 weeks

And, for comparison purposes

  15

                          20

                                                    25

Not that much bigger, but definitely rounder and higher, yes?

Preggo

It’s nice to know that we are all in this together!

My best Idaho friends: Colleen, (me), and TRex Mom

If you look closely behind my legs in this next one, you can just barely see Joseph who was clinging to me and crying:

Please note that we are lined up by size and not by due date.

Colleen is due in 2 weeks, I am about 24.5 weeks in this picture, and TRex Mom is about 27 weeks.  But, for the record, my husband is about a foot taller than their husbands, so I would like to think that my baby is just about a foot taller too…?

I can’t believe that we are adding THREE MORE KIDS to the mix!
