Halloween 2009

 

Halloween was a HUGE hit with my little candy-addict!  He was a little timid at first, but once he ate that first piece of candy- it was ON! 

He wouldn’t say “trick or treat”, but he would gladly say “Candy!!”

Before long he and his buddy Cooper (the monkey) were marching to the next house on their own.

Joseph still talks about it today.  He wants to know if he can push our neighbor’s doorbell.  He wants to know if he can carry his pumpkin.  And he wants to know if he can have more candy.

And now, the moment you have all (in my family) been waiting for- I give you my little dragon, Joseph!

Pumpkin Patch 2009

 

Can we all just pretend that Halloween was just this past weekend, so that I can feel like a better mom for not getting these up sooner?  Excellent.

We went to the pumpkin patch three times this year.  The first trip was awesome, the second one was pretty good, and the third one was a bit of a bummer (pouring down rain, mud, Joseph throwing tantrums.)  But, it was kind of nice to have the bad experience at the end, because none of us were sad to leave the patch for the next year.

Please note that I tried to take the obligatory Pumpkin Patch Picture with the kid holding a pumpkin and sitting in the hay…but he just decided to throw them instead.

                             (This train ride was SOOO bumpy!  I had a lot of contractions afterwards.  One of the downsides to having a freakishly tall husband is that he can’t fit into these kind of things)

I have SOOO many pictures of the Halloween festivities to share with you that I am feeling slightly overwhelmed. 

Here is a sweet little Joseph story to tide you over until I get my act together.

Joseph came into the room after me yesterday and absentmindedly said, “Dada?”

I said, “I’m not Dada!  What’s my name?”

“Mama!!” He replied.

“That’s right, and what’s YOUR name?”

He thought for a minute, smiled, and said, “CUTE!”

I couldn’t agree more!
