Glad to know that I'm not alone! I have been upping my lanolin usage, really concentrating on my latch, and they are doing really good! As in, they only hurt a medium/high amount and not in a curse-inadvertantly-and-want-to-vomit way! Haha!

Also, welcome to all of the lovely new readers!
Caitlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09581232345782115891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7063543737186349943.post-18602050452279260902012-10-12T19:32:56.269-07:002012-10-12T19:32:56.269-07:00Congratulations! All these helped me. :-)Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09665008381558033075noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7063543737186349943.post-31605714817947858712012-10-12T11:42:25.223-07:002012-10-12T11:42:25.223-07:00Awwww, new reader here and I love the pictures. Lanolin and perseverance. I felt better after reading that it usually takes 6 weeks for the breast feeding relationship to take hold and become comfortable. So, so sweet.

My babies are all grown up now, but one of them made my nipples bleed into her fifth month. I finally learned (from a lactation coach) that she was not latching on properly. After that, I made sure she was lying (on a pillow)level with my breast. If she started out sucking improperly, I made her quit and start all over, and made sure the whole dang thing was in her mouth far enough. It helped a lot. With my third, I made sure he latched on correctly from the get-go, and had fewer problems.

And this may be way too much information from someone you do not know at all. But oh well. We're talking bleeding breasts, after all.
